A superb view over the massifs of the Haute-Maurienne and Haute Tarentaise. Description : The trail commences on the left of the road starting out from the car park with a regular climb right up to the col. |

From the col's car park Altitude : Start 2764m, finish 3043m Duration : One-way 1 h, returning 1 h 30 Please note : Magnificent view over the summits of the Vanoise and Grand Paradis massifs. Description : The trail commences at the Notre Dame chapel in Iseran. It is not very steep when first starting out, but the trail becomes steeper and follows a rocky bar before reaching la pointe des Lessières. |
| 15/ Le Col des Fours |

From the Pont de la neige Altitude : Start 2528m, finish 2976m Duration : One-way 1 h 50, returning 3 h 20 Please note : Superb view over the massifs of the Haute Maurienne and Haute Tarentaise. At the beginning of the season, some late firns overlay the trail so it is advisable to proceed with caution. Description : Starting out from the Pont de la neige, follow the trail which goes up the left-hand side of the dell. It then crosses the lower part of the Jave glacier and continues towards a hollow in the Trétêtes ridge. The route then continues up until the north side of the lake and rises along very steep slopes until the col des Fours. This route proceeds entirely within the area of the Parc National de la Vanoise (Vanoise National Park). From the col it is possible to descend to the refuge des Fours (2537m) in about 40mins. |
| 16/ Le Col de l'Iseran starting out from Bonneval |

From Bonneval Altitude : Start 1800m, finish 2764m Duration : One-way 3 h, returning 5 h 30 Please note : Several Bonneval families, in the Lenta dell, pursue country activities at this altitude, such as herding, haymaking, the producing of tomme (a cheese from Savoie)… Description : From the old village centre of Bonneval, go to the Saint Sébastien chapel and then take the trail which winds upwards (GR5E) and which runs alongside the road up until the Lenta dell. Then cross the Lenta stream by using the footbridge in order to continue along the left bank. Then make your way north through the mountain pastures strewn with chalets until you arrive at the district house in a place called "Pied Montet." Follow the GR5 until the pont de la Neige and continue northwards until coming to the car park situated at the Col de l'Iseran . |
