From the hamlet of l'Ecot Altitude : Start 1800m, finish 2020m Duration : One-way 0 h 30, returning 1 h Please note : The refuge is located at the top of the chairlift piste of Vallonnet. A nice view over the village of Bonneval. Description : A private, upkept and resupplied refuge. Starting out from Bonneval, cross the bridge over the Arc (pont du Pautas) and follow the path which leads to the refuge. |

From Bonneval (area of Pré Catin) Altitude : Start 1800m, finish 1750m (passing the Andagne lakes at 2500m) Duration : One-way 3 h 30, returning 6 h Please note : Above the refuge du Criou, the route twists twice as it goes along the balcony trail of the "Tour de Haute-Maurienne." A clear and splendid view over the bessanais plateau and the massif of the Vanoise. Description : Taking Bonneval as a starting point, go along "le chemin des Oiseaux" trail until the refuge du Criou. Do not cross the mountain stream, then go up the ski pistes using the trail leading to the Andagne lakes. The trail then leads down to the hamlet of Andagne. Then pass above the water supply point of the gourde d'Andagne and continue until Travérole. |

Altitude : Start 1800m, finish 1750m Duration : One-way, returning 4 h Please note : Rock paintings and animal drawings can be viewed at the Castle rock. The hamlet of Villaron is very interesting with its beautiful stone houses and the chapel of Saint Bernard. The chapel of Notre-Dame des Grâces should be visited and is located along the N6. Description : Starting out from Bonneval, cross the village until you come to the oratory. Follow the farm track (GR 5E), on the right bank of the Arc, until the Rocher du Château (Castle Rock). Continue along the trail until the hamlet of Villaron. |

From Bonneval Altitude : Start 1800m, finish 1750m Duration : One-way 2 h 45, returning 5 h 30 Please note : The balcony trail gives a clear view over the valley and the summits. The hamlet of Villaron is very interesting with its beautiful stone houses and the chapel of Saint Bernard. The chapel of Notre-Dame des Grâces should be visited and is located along the N6. Description : Starting out from the centre of the old village of Bonneval, go to the St Sébastien chapel then take the trail in the direction of Iseran. After the chapel of St Barthélémy, the trail crosses Lenta by a stone bridge and, after crossing the CD 902, continue to make your way through the dell. Cross the second bridge on the left and follow the trail until la Grange des Druges. The trail follows a south-westerly direction up until the stream of the Roches. After having crossed the mountain pastures of the Buffettes, go back to the chalets situated in the dell. The trail crosses the stream of the dell and continues in the direction of Le Mollard. Then continue until the hamlet of Villaron. This route runs partly through the Vanoise National Park. |
