THE SUMMER AT BONNEVAL-SUR-ARC
THE VANOISE PARK

The Vanoise Park, created in 1963, was the first national park in France and is located between Maurienne and Tarentaise. It extends over 28 villages and is made up of forests, mountain pastures, lakes, rocks, glaciers and conceals a multitude of splendours, as much on the faunal and geological levels as the floral.

The fauna includes the most important French colony of Alpine mountain goats, known as ibexes, as well as chamois or small deer, and not forgetting the marmot and all the various species of birds.

There is a diversified range of flora which is made up of more than a thousand species. When rocks are present they are many and various.

The ideal time of the year for discovering these little treasures is the summer when nature is in full bloom. However, spring and autumn are also important as these are seasons of transition and change.
The Massif of the Vanoise offers a complete, progressive and evolutionary range of activities for all : from an easy stroll to hikes made of circuits lasting for several days, for example climbing, ice walking, summer skiing... Apart from Alpine skiing, in winter try hiking with ski shoes, sleigh riding with dogs, ski hikes, paragliding, exploring ice falls...
