Trails on the Albaron in the Alpes Grées
The mountain guides of Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc Territoire d'Alpinisme are offering to guide you during the "Traces sur l'Albaron dans les Alpes Grées" event, on four routes to the summit of Albaron.
Description
This 2-day introductory and discovery course is your gateway to the high mountains. As part of the Bessans-Bonneval-sur-Arc area’s “TERRE D’ALPINISME UNESCO” designation, you’ll learn basic mountaineering techniques: ice axe, crampons, basic knots, roping, and belaying.
Two days to enjoy the high-mountain environment: glaciers, snowfields, and summits.
A course designed for beginners, accessible to teenagers aged 12 and over accompanied by an adult.
Maximum 6 participants. Course confirmed with a minimum of 4 registered participants.
Physical level: For regular endurance athletes, up to 900m of elevation gain.
Technical level: For regular hikers wishing to discover mountaineering.
Accommodation
- August 23 and 24 course at the Evettes refuge, which you must reach on your own by 6pm on Friday, August 22.
Course schedule:
- Friday from 6 p.m.: welcome of the group by the guide(s) - Preparation for the following day’s race: weather, high-altitude conditions at the time, cartography, smartphone apps, assessment of participants’ physical and mental readiness, individual and group equipment check, wake-up and departure times.
- Saturday: during the race, group decisions are made, the guide teaches and, above all, shares his experience and love of the high mountains, and everyone listens to each other without rivalry or "competition": a team spirit with a common goal. On the way back, we discuss the day’s hike.
- Sunday: same program, with a debriefing before returning to the valley.
