Col de l'Iseran: road opening and closing

The Col de l'Iseran road has been closed since Monday November 4, 2024. As every year, it is scheduled to open to traffic on the 2nd Friday in June*, i.e. this year on Friday June 13, 2025.

Road closed since November 12, 2024

In winter, the Col de l'Iseran road is closed for safety reasons. It is therefore not possible to drive from Bonneval sur Arc to Val d'Isère during this period.

The pass has been closed to traffic since November 12, 2024. Opening scheduled for 2ᵉ Friday, June 2025.

Road opening scheduled for June 13, 2025

Scheduled opening of the access road to the Iseran pass: Friday June 13, 2025 (2nd Friday in June).

Europe's highest road pass (2,764m), clearing snow from the Iseran is a major undertaking, requiring several weeks of work on both sides of the pass. Snow depths often reach 8 to 10m in some areas (notably at the "pont de la neige" on the Bonneval sur Arc side).

The pass is usually open to traffic from the 2nd Friday in June to the 1st Monday in November.
