Road closed

In winter, the Col de l'Iseran road is closed for safety reasons. It is therefore not possible to travel from Bonneval sur Arc to Val d'Isère by car at this time.

Following snowfalls at the end of October 2025, the pass was closed to traffic.

Road opening scheduled for early June 2026

Europe's highest road pass (2,764m), clearing snow from the Iseran is a major undertaking, requiring several weeks of work on both sides of the pass between May and early June. Snow heights often reach 8 to 10m in some areas (notably at the "pont de la neige" on the Bonneval sur Arc side).

Scheduled opening of the access road to the Iseran pass at the beginning of June 2026.
