Le Monde d'en Haut - Ski touring film
Guillaume and Simon, two friends with a passion for mountains and adventure, set off from Salzburg, Austria, on a crazy challenge: to cross the Alps on cross-country skis, from the sea to Menton, while minimizing their ecological impact.
Description
This 90-day winter journey—covering 1,100 km and 81,000 meters of elevation gain across the Alps—goes beyond a mere athletic feat.
They face weather challenges, explore the environmental changes taking place in the heart of the Alps, and meet the people working to preserve these lands, offering a unique account of these ever-changing mountains.
There, they hiked with skis on their backs to reach the snow. Then they embarked on a long snow-filled adventure, crossing the mountain ranges of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France, including stops in Modane, Valfréjus, and the Thabor mountain hut in the Haute Maurienne Vanoise.
