Guitar concert - Bachoro
Bachoro is a musical journey around the guitar, from Brazilian choro to works by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Johann Sebastian Bach.
Description
This program is the fruit of two years of preparation around composers who have been with me since I began playing the guitar over fifty years ago.
Very early on, I was marked by Heitor Villa-Lobos: his audacity, his freedom and the new place he gave to the guitar profoundly broadened the horizons of the young musician I was.
Villa-Lobos naturally opened up two directions: Brazilian popular music and the world of Johann Sebastian Bach. For me, the former was embodied by Baden Powell, composer and performer, a true guitar wizard.
At the other end of the repertoire, Bach's music has never ceased to fascinate me with its depth, rigor and capacity for constant renewal. It remains an inexhaustible source of work and inspiration. Bringing these two worlds together in a single program was an obvious choice. I gave it a name: Bachoro.
At the same time, for the first time this project is accompanied by visual work. I've chosen three major photographic themes, broken down according to the parts of the program, to create a dialogue between music and image. For me, this new exercise represents a search for balance and harmony.
I look forward to seeing you in concert.
