Would you like to learn or revise the basics? Or increase your independence in ski mountaineering / ski touring? We offer three levels of courses: discovery-initiation, improvement, and towards independence.

Description

These courses will enable you to acquire knowledge of the techniques involved in this practice, the environment in which it is carried out (snow, glaciers....), climatic conditions and the appreciation of natural events.

In recent years, ski mountaineering, more commonly known as ski touring, has experienced significant growth. This activity, this "lifestyle", this other way of skiing is the embodiment of discovery, adventure, responsibility, contemplation, authenticity and freedom.
Ski-Alpinism (ski touring) allows you to :
- away from resort crowds and lift queues,
- make your own tracks,
- discover immaculate immensities,
- enjoy a powder descent,
- an environmentally-friendly activity.

Ski-Alpinisme/Ski de Randonnée, like mountaineering, is a traditional physical activity characterized by :
- a shared culture, an art made up of knowledge (knowledge of the high-mountain environment, its history, practice and associated values),
- know-how (mastery of ski mountaineering techniques, climbing and belaying, use of ski touring equipment, sealskins, knives, ropes, ice axes and crampons).
Its "responsible" practice requires the acquisition of varied knowledge of the natural and undeveloped environment (snow, altitude, glaciers), changing climatic conditions and the appreciation of random natural events (avalanches, storms, ....). The culture of Ski-Alpinism (ski touring) is also based on aesthetic references, as skier-alpinists are attached to the beauty of the routes, to the elegance of the gesture in the ascent and descent, to the contemplation of the landscapes and to communion with the natural environments crossed.

The practice also embraces ethical principles based on commitment, economy of means, the absence of residual traces left behind, measured risk-taking, and a duty of mutual aid and assistance between practitioners. Style and sensitive experience often take precedence over the successful ascent of a summit, pass or traverse.
