Discovery and introductory mountaineering courses with the mountain guides of the Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc area, which has been awarded the "TERRE D'ALPINISME UNESCO" label: July 5 and 6 at the Avérole refuge and August 23 and 24 at the Evettes refuge.

Description

This 2-day initiation and discovery course is the gateway to the high mountains. As part of the Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc area's "TERRE D'ALPINISME UNESCO" label, you'll be introduced to basic mountaineering techniques: ice axe, crampons, elementary knots, roping, basic belaying.
2 days to enjoy the High Mountain environment: glacier, névé summit, rock.
A course designed for beginners, accessible to teenagers aged 12 and over accompanied by an adult.
Maximum 6 participants. Confirmed course from 4 registered participants.
Physical level: For regular endurance sportsmen, up to 900m ascent.
Technical level: For regular hikers wishing to discover mountaineering.

Accommodation
- August 23 and 24 course at the Evettes refuge, which you reach on your own on Friday August 22 before 6pm.

Course schedule :
- Friday from 6pm: welcome of the group by the guide(s) - Preparation for the following day's race: weather, high mountain conditions at the time, cartography, smartphone applications, awareness of participants' physical and mental levels, individual and group equipment checking, wake-up and departure times.
- Saturday: during the race, group decisions are made, the guide teaches and, above all, shares his experience and love of the high mountains, and everyone listens to each other without rivalry or "competition": a team spirit with a common goal. On the way back, we talk about the day's run.
- Sunday: same program, with debriefing before returning to the valley.

Group rate available for 4 people or more.

Price includes: supervision by a U.I.A.G.M. mountain guide, loan of harness and helmet:
Price per adult (21 years and over): 170€.
Price per teenager (12 to 20 years): 150€.
Each participant pays directly for the costs of the refuge: accommodation and half-board. Please bring cash or cheque.
Price does not include
- rental of mountaineering boots, crampons and ice axe.
- half-board at the refuge: refuge accommodation (2 nights), 2 evening meals, 2 breakfasts, drinks).
- picnics on the 2 ascents.
